One of A Kind: Maison Bourgeat

It was my friend who recommended that I contact Maison Bourgeat to check out this one of a kind, old school design house in Paris. This is truly an experience in tradition and craftsmanship when you think of how one goes to specialized shops for their shoes, bags, hats, gloves and then sunglasses. Bespoke design and fittings is the call of the day here… I love the frames here, called Tuilerie, made of blond horn… gorgeous!! Guillaume Clerc is a couturier of glasses, where the frame is handmade in his atelier, with the help of Yann, an artisan working with Maison Bourgeat. Each pair of frames are drawn on paper, then the subsequent process is one of detail; in its design and the caliber of frame; ivory, antelope, tortoiseshell… If you are going to buy a pair of frames to cherish them, this is the place to do it. Make sure to make an appointment before you head to Paris next time… Also, Guillaume is so adorable and accommodating!
