It’s not a contest – Yeliz Korkmaz

Yeliz is someone who takes love with her wherever she goes. The best or the worst… It is impossible not to see the flowers blooming around her at any moment. Against everything that life brings, she is naturally flowing. She dances and dances seemingly effortlessly. It’s not a contest, but Yeliz carries the hope of winning in her spirit.

What was the turning point for you?

I can say that my turning point was when my father found out that I was making content on social media. I was a senior high school student at the time. I had been making content for about 1 year and had not yet told my family. When my mother found out, she asked me to quit social media with the instinct to protect me. No matter how much I said I’d quit, I continued secretly. My mother finally called my father one day and told him everything that happened and made him watch my videos. Of course, like every young girl, I was afraid of my father. I remember I was trembling as my father watched the videos without reacting, but contrary to what I expected, he was very calm and supportive and asked me to continue. It was a shocking reaction for both my mum and me. After that day, I continued on social media with the strength I got from my father, and now I am here.

How did you realise what you want to be in life, how much do your professional decisions match your personality?

In fact, I knew what I wanted to do and how I wanted to exist for as long as I could remember. I can say that my circle was also aware of this. Everything I did from my childhood until today was to carry me to today and beyond.

What does the future mean to you?

I am very excited about the future, I have great plans for the long and short term and I can’t wait to realise them. The idea that I can shape the future with my own hands is really motivating for me. That’s why I focus on improving myself every day and taking steps forward.

How much space do the feelings of winning and losing occupy in your life?

I can only say “experience”, one word. Because when I win or lose something, it adds a lot to me as a plus.

What can you describe yourself as a “winner” when it happens?

When I reach the goals I set for myself, when I see myself in the places I want to be, I can feel myself as a winner, the feeling of this is something completely different.
