Thursday Night At The Pill

Thinking about your Thursday night in Istanbul? Is there a god? Tomorrow night we have The Pill in Balat, Istanbul, giving us a taste of Eva Nielsen – with her solo show, a first ever in Istanbul. The French artist is showing her vision of transitional spaces and its state of meaning in a series of paintings meant to generate a rather dark impression in its various depths and layers. The eyes tend to wonder through the canvas trying to shape the various objects that give a 3d impression upon a flat canvas. Having attended École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts and then Central St Martinsin London, Eva makes the viewer explore for explanations of the scene in front them. The process of combining photos taken, screen printing and paint, as well as other factors, materials and layers, makes this an interesting process and work to see.
