Split The Difference

London’s Archive Gallery is housing an exciting new exhibition: Split the Difference. Featuring works of fashion designer Louise Gray and fellow designer Scott Ramsay Kyle, the show examines themes of identity and perception.

The exhibition investigates contradictions and different experiences within society while questioning whether we self-reflect enough at this time where digital-age confusion seems to take over our identities. Gray, drawing inspiration from Caribbean-American poet June Jordan’s verse “To tell the truth is to become beautiful,” and Kyle, from philosopher Aldous Huxley’s The Doors of Perception, the project aims to fight conformity and embrace self-identity.

Using beading and embroidery in their works, the designers don’t forget to pay a cute homage to their fashion backgrounds either…
