Private Little Space: Görkem Ekşiler

We’re living in a society which prefer to criticize instead of creating something. “One of the biggest reasons for this is the disrespect for the work, the artist and the illustrator,” says Görkem Ekşiler. When she decided to take a brave step by dropping Engineering education and continuing to Faculty of Fine Arts, she had only going to a direction which she feels right in her mind. Even though she believes in inspiration, she says that it’s not a spiritual thing; she emphasizes that she depends on the inspiration that comes by seeing, hearing something. In order to create, she says, “I only need to create my own private little space.” She’s into going with the flow and move along like that. And words start to turn into lines.
