Ecem Oltulu at Citybooth

Sometimes it is inevitable to feel as if you are disappearing in the crowds of Istanbul. The tempo of the city, the style of the streets, the sounds rising from the city; all of them are a part of Istanbul. Beymen Club invites you to immerse yourself in the flow of the city this season. Ecem Oltulu, one of those who finds herself getting lost in the city, told us about her style and the energy of the city.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion for me means being comfortable, creative and being myself.

How would you describe your personal style?

Comfortable and stylish.

How does it make you feel to be on the street?

Being on the street makes me feel free.

What happens when you immerse yourself in the rhythm of the city?

I live more comfortably and do whatever I please, I definitely do not follow my agenda.

Background music of Istanbul for you?

Nil Karaibrahimgil – Kanatlarım Var Ruhumda because Istanbul is the city where I feel the most free and where I live for the first time after moving away from my family

A signature look for the winter?

Leather pants, short oversized jacket and loafers

The last piece you bought for your wardrobe?

Long, leather skirt

Your favorite piece from Beymen Club’s new season?

A well-known misconception about Istanbul?

The traffic is not that bad if you manage when you manage when you should hit the road and be there.

A movie that best describes Istanbul?

Organize İşler

How does fashion complement you to express yourself?

Fashion is my safe-zone. My clothes definitely affect my mood.

For me, Istanbul’s background music is Nil Karaibrahimgil – Kanatlarım Var Ruhumda because Istanbul is the city where I feel the most free and where I lived for the first time after moving away from my family.

How do you increase your motivation?

If I’m in a bad mood I will go to the hairdressers or dress to uplift my mood. Then I will feel better.

What has changed since the early days when design, fashion and styling started to be a topic in your life? What kind of effort do you make to keep your fashion perception up to date?

My personal style has shaped a lot. Now I know more about what suits me better and what I feel more comfortable in. I also follow foreign influencers and fashion weeks.
