Bed Time Secrets w/ Helin Kandemir

It is beauty at its most natural, an area where imperfections and perfection are in balance. Skin is not just a reflection of appearance; it is an indicator of mood, lifestyle and self-care. This is exactly what makes Helin Kandemir’s light so natural: staying as she is. The time she spares for herself despite her busy schedule, her approach to her skin and Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Serum, which is indispensable for her night care ritual, are just a few of the secrets of Helin’s radiance.

What does beauty mean to you?
Imperfect and perfect.

What is the key to looking beautiful?
Being and staying yourself, clean healthy skin, healthy hair, good smell.

Do you have more time for yourself at night?
Every time I take time for myself at night is like a reset for the day. Even after the busiest, most intense workouts, I always give myself and my body a break.

Why is skincare important for you?
I care about preventing the damage of intense set makeup and all stress factors. I reward my skin for accompanying me through all this chaos.

What is a must for your skincare routine?
Cleansing and moisturizing.

What makes a product indispensable for you?
I am very good with all skincare products that make me feel moisturized. But the products that I feel my skin accepts quickly when I apply them are more frequent in my routines.

Bright and natural makeup? Or bold and striking?
Bright and natural makeup.

You can only take 3 skincare products with you on vacation, what would they be?
Facial cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.

Best skincare advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t play with natural selection, just help it.

What is the step you never skip in your night care routine?
Cleansing.

What do you find relaxing for yourself at the end of a busy day?
Coming home in the evening after a busy day, taking a nice shower, having a facial, lighting a candle, listening to music and reading. These things are in my life almost every day of the week.

Is it harder to be yourself or to stay yourself?
In this crowd where almost everyone needs to be pleased, I find it very difficult to even make the decision to be yourself. It is hard to start something, but it has always been easier for me to stay with it after starting it.
That’s why I say “making that decision” first.

Tell us about the last dream you remember.
I have very dystopian dreams and I have a hard time remembering them, but the last one I remember was about my work.
